HEAT News!!

Ater Majok helped the Heat Academy obtain an 86% winning percentage for the 2007-08 basketball season. This percentage was a result of a 33- win, 5-loss season. Ater Majok a 6'10 forward with a 7'4" wingspan, garnered lots of interest while playing for Heat Academy. Ater had no basketball ranking at the beginning of the season, but the exposure and experience he garnered playing with the Academy helped change this. According to rivals, he is the13th ranked player in the country in the 2008 recruiting class.

Other player signings for Heat Academy include, from the 2006-07 season-- the signings of Corey Snell to Virginia State University and Rashaun Benjamin to Lees-McRae College. The 2007-08 season for the Heat Academy resulted in the following player signings. RaShad Coleman to UNC Charlotte, Sammy and Teddy Schnickel to New Jersey Technology Institute, James Otey received a full scholarship to Johnson C. Smith University in North Carolina, and Ater Majok to the University of Connecticut.
